How to add your team and manage roles

Behind every great business is a great team. The OakNorth business account was designed with complex businesses in mind, so we can cater to teams of all sizes.

As the account admin, you can add unlimited members to your business account. There are two types of roles that you can assign: users and admins.

  • A user can make payments and transfer money between Spend and Earn, access and download statements, get their own OakNorth Visa debit card, and help safeguard spending by becoming a payment requester or approver.
  • An admin can do everything a user does, along with the ability to add or block members from the business account.

Add an account member

Adding members to your business account is easy. Just follow these steps.

  1. Send an email to your dedicated Business Partner letting them know how many members you’d like to add to the account and whether they’ll be part of the payment approvals workflow and be requesting or approving payments.
  2. We’ll email you a brief third-party mandate that you and the invited members will need to complete and email back to us. This is standard due diligence to comply with banking regulations and helps keep your account secure.
  3. Once we’ve reviewed it, both you and the invited members will receive a confirmation message once it’s been approved.

And that’s it! You’ve added a new account member.

Block a member

If you ever need to suspend a member from your business account, here’s what to do.

On web

  1. First, open OakNorth on web and log in to your account.
  2. Tap on your initials in the top-right corner and select ‘Account members’ from the menu options.
  3. Scroll through your list of members and tap on the one you wish to block.
  4. On the member’s profile page, turn on the ‘Block access’ toggle.
  5. You’ll see a confirmation once the member is blocked, and other active members will be notified as well.

Likewise on app,

  1. Open the OakNorth Business app.
  2. Tap on the person symbol in the top-right corner, then jump to ‘Account members’.
  3. Scroll through your list of members, turn on the ‘Block access’ toggle.
  4. A confirmation prompt will appear. Review the details and tap ‘Block access’.
  5. You’ll see a confirmation once the member is blocked, and other active members will be notified as well.

They won’t be able to access the business account via the app or web. If they have a card, please contact us on 0330 380 1181 to suspend it.

To unblock someone, simply switch the toggle off.
